My 1st Travel System! :)
When i first found out i was pregnant that was it i would spend hours trawling through baby magazines and websites searching for everything 'perfect'. My mum is somewhere along related to steptoe so is always on the hunt for a bargain or freebee lol, so when i picked the Silvercross i found a bargain on ebay and won the whole travel system for £250 only one problem...... it was in yorksire, not a nice journey 7 months pregnant. But it was all worth it when we got it home - Playtime :) x
Mia on her first trip in the buggy!
The Silvercross 3D is beautifully made and in pram mode is just perfect for a new born. It doesnt have a seperate carry cot, you take the hood off and lie the pushchair seat flat then put the hood on back on facing the other way it then has a lovely white pram insert that is like a really padded bed sheet with a newborn pram mattress in the bottom.
Alot of the travel systems I have had have separate carry cots for a newborn and you just lay the baby in it, and i found they jiggle about when your on the move... the silver cross had a lovely soft 3 point velcro harness that held the baby in place snugly and comfortably. Another cute little feature the liner had was a little pocket at the foot end for small items like a dummy, hat, keys or mobile phone.
Pram mode also had its own apron that cocooned baby in the pram but still allowed air to circulate and seeing as Mia was a summer baby this was a great way to keep her snug without overheating.
Proud Daddy!
There was only one problem i had with pram mode and for me it was quite a big one. Mia was almost 2 weeks early and only weighed 6lb 9oz and was really small for her age for a long while, but by 3 1/2 months was already running out of room in parent facing pram mode so ultimately i had to switch it to forward facing. At such a young age i still wanted her facing me and in the end not being able to do this forced me to start looking else where..... ;-)
But if you are happy to have your baby facing the world (which i did for a few weeks) its just as good in pushchair mode. It comes with a Liner and a lovely fleece lined foot muff and reclines fully to lie flat with 4 different positions. Also has removable bumper bar and adjustable handles and a fair sized shopping basket.

The Silvercross is also car seat compatable and the silvercross car seat is lovely and roomy with newborn head support and padded harness and it even came with its own apron - very sweet. My fav part of the whole buggy was the changing bag! One of the best I have owned (i have had a few of those too lol) has lots of little compartments and two really big mesh pockets on the outside for sippy cups or bottles.
Folded it was quit neat but very heavy and took up quite a bit of space in my father in laws ford focus (I don't drive) on the hole though it was a nice pushchair i would give it a 6 1/2 out of 10 - Just not the pushchair for me!
